It has been a while hasn't it......
[info]arachic

It has been a while......
my first entry in the year 2011..........
it has been a really busy busy second half of 2010 for me.......as it has been for 2009.....
sports day, halloween, music concert.....winter break......winter break finished.... back to work again....

the beginning of 2011....is time for reflection and goals.......actually i'm not really a person who likes to do reflections as much as the Japanese like to do it.....and therefore I have to do it at work....

because to me, what is over is OVER.... and in the dictionary it is an adjective meaning "finished"....means no use looking back at it and no use thinking what I should have done....
yes yes of course.... u remember stupid and retard things that you did and promise  yourself that you will not do it again...... which is highly impossible

BUT... to set myself at ease and for everyone to have something to read...hehehehe....

reflections / conclusions time~~~~~

1) I still hate the cold

2) I have eaten so much Japanese curry rice but recently discovered cooking minestrone is also a good way to fend off the cold....and it is really tasty...

3) realised that in 3 months time i will be officially in Japan for 4 years and going forward to 5 years....and as a promise to my dad, i am coming home after the 5th year...so please expect skies to be blacker in the year 2012....coz santa black is coming to town....

4) JWs are still a pain in my ass no matter where u go...

5) to all the parents out there : i might not be a child expert now that I am a kindergarten teacher but here are just some things that I've observed
............ a child's behaviour, language, attitude (twds others or oneself) depends a lot on what kind of tv shows/cartoons/anime that he/she is in constant contact with and the kind of family background he/she grows up with......

6) Amsterdam is not part of the UK

7) Working in an international school is not a good way to improve one's Japanese....

8) when one is sick with one's working place, every single thing sucks.... one will exploit and make an insignificant small issue into a big issue thus irritating the bloody hell out of everyone around him/her

9) personality and working relationship are really really important for one to have an enjoyable and pleasant time at work.....

10) ang mohs are not hardworking but not all ang mohs are lazy

there........the 10 reflections that have left a really big impression on me.....

There are only 2 goals that I set for myself in 2011 or at least 2 things I need to do before I leave Japan
1) save $
2) get JLPT 1 ( or now they called it N1 )
3) to get a job before I go back to SG ( this is not an obligation )

Let's see... I've  been to Hokkaido, Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Hiroshima, Kyuushu ( where i am probably not stepping in again ), where else can I go before I leave ?

TADA ~~~~~ and that's all folks....

Power spot
[info]arachic

The recent on-goings revolving around Japan is this Power-spot thing... they have travel magazines introducing power spot all around Japan...mountains, waterfalls, stones, scenaries, trees etc....... places that are believed to have relaxing and resetting effect to the mind and the soul.....
Actually, once in a while it's good to go to nature and smell the fresh air, to refresh oneself... so ...powerspot no powerspot... same to me ~~~

Anyway... went up to Yoro park on Saturday with some colleagues...
there's a famous powerspot, the famous Yoro waterfall in Gifu, around an hour drive from where we are... so since the weather was great and we always wanted to go there... plus.. we actually went there with the aim of finding this haunted persimmon tree... but we couldn't find it... damn ~~~

so~~~ here's some pictures.....

Greenary!!!!!!

staring at it long enough actually is quite soothing to the eyes...the actual thing of course...not staring at it through the screen pls.....

Maple tree... shld be v nice during autumn~~

Introduction of the waterfall

Close up version for all u English speaking ppl....hehehe

Ropeway up to the waterfall for those ppl who don't feel like doing a bit climbing....actually the walk is not tat bad....this ropeway looks more dangerous...not paying to sit on one of these....

Soaking our feet in the nice, COLD stream~~ can u guess which are my feet?? hehehee

Making my own jewellery... the red long beads is handmade too....made by using old clothing... it's rolled up with glue, left to dry and apply varnish on top to make it waterproof and hard.... =)

Going to make more beads using clothes and paper marche... =)

I'm also starting to do origami... hahaha... maybe fold a lot of different complicated one and make a display...hhahhaa....we'll see ah....
my house still so messy.... maybe shld start by tidying my place...

My 1st Namie Amuro concert ~!!!!
[info]arachic

Went to my first ever namie amuro concert in early May....hahahaha..... so happy.....
although my seats were kinda crappy....2nd floor the very last row........half of the big screen  was covered by the stupid ceiling of the 3rd floor....
But I still managed to catch her live in action !!!!
she's so pretty n cute....
and she is such a fantastic live performer !!!@@@!~~~
She danced n danced n sang and sang....for like 10 over fast songs...non stop !!~~~ Like machiam dun need to breathe one....
and her concert goods are all so 'high-class', I bought the concert t-shirt, phamplet, and tour towel... had a really fun time waving the towel about during the concert ....
the concert goods includes like 3 different types of handphone straps, scented candles, mini tiara and a 200plus flurry and huge handphone strap....

\

My lunch b4 the concert started...

Photography was prohibited ... so I took this secretly.......the stage at the beginning...

The stage after the concert...

This huge horse statue at the concert hall...

Saw this outside the hall.....some die hard fan sia....decorated the whole car...

Overall i was really in awe by her performance....not very happy with the venue though...too small...more like a hall then an arena....imagining watching her concert at UCC in NUS.... that's the feeling......
next time i must go somewhere more 're-nao'....although nagoya is a city...it's still not big enough for her to hold a concert at a huge arena.....
compared to Arashi's which was held in Nagoya-dome...
this hall is small.... don't feel really high....
But i still had a really good time...she's awesome...must go watch her concert again... =)
