Happy Wedding & Happy Halloween ~~

Yesterday was Elvin's wedding.... Called both Cindy and Xin but both didn't pick up the phone...
didn't want to call the bridegroom cause he should be very busy ~~~~ Anyway ...just wanted to say ...

CONGRATULATIONS DEAR ELVIN ON YOUR WEDDING ~~~
Sorry I couldn't make it.... but you have my blessing...now that you are a married man with 'jia shi' ...hahahaha....
be good and faithful to your wife...enjoy married life and miss being single...ha ha haha.... Catch up with you when I am back in Singapore....
Take care ~~~ Miss you all~~~

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway... wow...what a week it has been.... Halloween week, Thursday we had haunted house day in school where the kids took turns to enter the haunted house set up by the teachers in the 5 years old level..... and Friday supposed to be Halloween celebration where we have games  booths and costume parade..... Spent the whole of last 2 weeks preparing for the Halloween party and parade however, due to the outbreak of the influenza in one of the classes in school...the boss decided to shut down the school for a week.... So we had a break from Friday to next Wed ..... and the Halloween party will take place next Fri instead.... however, teachers are still required to go back to school during tat time...................

So we only had the chance to go through the haunted house on Thurs.... ha hahaa.... my boys in class are wuss.... so many of them cried after going through the haunted house... the girls in my class are so brave...so proud of them....very gungho... wanted to go in again somemore.... hahahhaa.....

____________________________________

A lot of bad news with some of my colleague...one of them had kidney stones...so he has been resting for  a week, at first we thought he had influenza cause the day that he stop coming coincide with the influenza spread......but whatever it is...both sounds awful.... hope he recover soon... he's coming back to school next week....

then had another colleague, heard his license got suspended for 2 years because he was caught drunk driving...... poor thing... I can't stand not driving here for  2 days... funny thing is... he lives very near a lot of other colleagues... but he still choose to ride his bicycle to and fro work.... when the weather turning so cold somemore...
guys really find it very hard to ask for help izzit ??? pride very hard to put down hor....

---------------------------------------------------------------

Next week onwards, we have to start preparing for the autumn festival...every class will be making a float...  Our class will be making the turtle from Nemo... coz my class is green class ..so i thought of it...hehehe...will take picture of the finished product and show everyone...  =)
Gonna be super super busy... halloween party next friday not even over yet and have to start preparing for the autumn festival....
then dec having the christmas concert somemore....
oh....btw from my previous post i mentioned about choosing a song for my class... i decided on Jingle bell rock.. ha haa...coz it's quite a upbeat song...very suitable for my class...so full of energy... it's still waiting to be approved by the 'singing teacher'
...but i think 95 % should be okay....

Christmas Song

December December~~~~
December is the musical concert again.......... hai~~~~~
why again??? coz we had once in july.... the kids in my class sang You're my sunshine... it was quite a cute song and they sang it very very well...
so for December we're supposed to have like a mini christmas concert again.... so must choose English songs again...
I chose Santa Claus is coming to town...but was rejected because it's a song for the 3 years old... They say too easy for my level of kids.....arghhhh~~!!!!!
CHOOSE WHAT ~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oct. 5th, 2009

And that's a wrap~~~

Yeah...my first  big event with the school - Sports Day ended yesterday...
I was so excited over it i couldnt sleep the previous night..hhahaa...woke up at 3am and couldnt sleep a wink anymore.....

I must say it was quite a big success... my class's team got 1st place for both team A and B.... I'm quite surprised... although i know that my class is fast....but during the practises both teams never get 1st place for both teams.... ... both teams getting 1st place is really a first...and on the actual day itself... hahaha..i must say they did a really good job...
And because it was a working day yesterday on sunday ...so today monday is an off day..i went shopping and bought rewards for the kids... hershey's kisses...hahahaha....

It has been a really crazy week , with the influenza and the bad weather threatening to cancel the sports day..
It was actually supposed to take place on saturday...but because it was raining the whole week until sat morning... the boss decided to postpone it to sunday....
And the weather was just blazing hot on sunday ......compared to the freezing weather during the rainy week... T___T

Besides my kids doing such a wonderful job at the relay.... none of them cried or fell during the entire class... looking at the other classes same level as mine... my kids are really quite matured for their age..hahaha.... except the mischievous side still there la...hahaha...but kids are kids la.... wat to do... hahaha....

The morning part of the sports day was the relay and dancing part for the kindergarten...so it was more serious... we marched in with the kids, had dance exercise and sang the sports day song.....

The afternoon part was more relaxing and fun activities like wheel barrow race, hat grabbing game, tug of war, big pants race, mystery card game , teachers and parents relay... our level got 2nd for girls and 1st for guys..haha... i was the anchor person for the race...lucky never run last...or else so malu...hahaha....

The afternoon was so much fun but tat was also when the tired-ness sets in.... especially after the tug of war, my tension just dropped dramastically.... well...because i was just suddenly pulled in to make up the numbers... wa liew... the bloody thick rope... 2 of my fingers skin was tore off...and i got 2 big bruises from the ropes..hahahhaa....my battle scar i told my colleague...

i must say, the way japan hold sports day is so different from singapore...they take it so seriously.....have u ever heard of any kindegartens in singapore with sports day ???
and they have so many other fun activities .......

After everything, we cleaned up the place, went home took shower and went for a thank u dinner ( yakiniku ) .... =)
After tat went karaoke with my colleagues... went home at 2am ... woke up at 7am today...
now super lack of sleep but just can't sleep... serious insomia ...hahahaha

next event up, halloween....can't wait =)

i love this job !!!!

the only thing i regret these few days....never take photo ~~~ ARGHHHH!!!!

Dear Diary~~~

Recently keep having this thought...maybe i should buy a book and use it for my diary... so i can record down every single thing that happens everyday....
the thing is... i've had this online journal for 4 years... but i can never sign in everyday online to type.......so why would i have the time or patience to write by hand everyday ???
maybe having a physical diary will remind me to write everyday ???
coz it can get really troublesome to log in and start typing...

hmmm...i'll see how things go...

Sep. 20th, 2009

Happy Happy shopping day~~~

The start of the silver week...had 5 consecutive days of break...
hiak hiak hiak...heard form my colleagues that it only occurs once every 6 years....
OoO

So...decided to go on a road trip and drive to Toki Outlet in Gifu for some shopping coz I saw there's a huge sale outlet wide during the holidays~~~
The drive will roughly take around an hour plus a bit...hehehee

So... waiting for my friend to finish work yesterday at around 3pm , then key in the navigation the destination and off we go...

BUT ~~~ the funny thing about this navi that I have is ~~~~~ so far, it has always bring me to either (1) the wrong way or (2) expensive way, which is the toll way....

so... as usual the navi this time didn't let me down..this is wat happened...

Scenario to~~~

Me : Keying into the navi the destination

Navi: 有料道路利用してよろしいですか? する? しない ?
Translates to : Would you like to go by the way using toll gate ( expressway)

Me : haha... think I stupid izzit.. need to pay... しない
Translates to : NO ( selected )

~~~ happily started driving ~~~
after around 10 minutes later....
Navi : 三百メトル先、 右方々で 有料道路入り口です。
Translates to : Please turn right 300meters ahead into the toll gate.
Me: WAT THE FUC* !!!!! I KNEW IT !!!
Sian~~~ at this point.. can't do anything, cant u-turn or anything...so paid 1400Yen to enter into the expressway....
usually it takes around the same time to use the normal road..but using the toll service... it's lesser traffic and no traffic lights at all....
Anyway, at least this time it didn't bring me to Nagoya when I keyed in Gifu... like when my sis was here....
______________________________________
Ok... back to the shopping talk...hehehe ...reached the outlet... and started to shop , shop n shop... the aim of going was actually to get more warm clothes to prepare for winter ...weather turning cold~~ T____T
First shop I went into was of course adidas...hehehhe...
I bought 2 sports shoes, one for me and one for my younger sis, it's super cheap...only 3000plus yen a pair...
coz it was out season design and there's an additional 10% off on each items....
 For my sis~~
 mine~~
Got a set of sports jacket and pants for me to prepare for winter.
Then got off to swatch to get my watch strap repaired... 1000Yen and got a swatch watch to for 6000Yen only coz there's a 30% off for the second pair...my friend bought a pair...
So dirt cheap rite !!!
Mine's the blue one~~
And then went to Gap, clothes in Gap japan relatively cheaper than those in Singapore.. I bought 3 long sleeve shirts and each only cost 1400yen...
and two tops...
Found a really nice leather jacket..only 3990Yen......
Overall damage was not as bad as that in Yokohama...hahahha... but i got a new winter wardrobe
_____________________________________
We reached there around 4plus going 5 and shopped all the way till the shop closes at 9pm....
It's on top of a hill so it was relatively cold at night... but it's a really nice place to have an outlet...
Next time will go again.. an hours drive fair enough... just need to figure out how to go there without paying toll ~~~ T___T
Anyway.. the journey back.. the same episode but this time with a new twist.....
Scenario Back~~~
Me : Keying into the navi my home address
Navi: 有料道路利用してよろしいですか? する? しない ?
Translates to : Would you like to go by the way using toll gate ( expressway)
Me : hai~~~~ like it matters....  anyway.. No selected
~~~ started driving ~~~

after around 10 minutes later....

Navi : 三百メトル先、 右方々で 有料道路入り口です。
Translates to : Please turn right 300meters ahead into the toll gate.

Me: Wow~~~ i am so surprised...

My friend : Why don't you just drive straight and not go into through the toll gate???

**Because on the journey back, there's another lane duno going where next to the toll gate entrance**

Me: hmmm..good idea.. I'll just not go through the toll gate and the navi will have to choose another route...hiak hiak....

** So happily drove to the other lane not entering into the expressway**

** So for about 15mins we were driving on normal roads and not using the expressway when suddenly**

Navi: 三百メトル先、 右方々で 有料道路入り口です。
Translates to : Please turn right 300meters ahead into the toll gate.

Me: WA LAO ~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
_________________________________________

My toll fee back was 1300Yen, 100yen cheaper than the journey there because we got onto the expressway at the later entrance...

T____________________T

It was a fun trip , had dinner at Cat's Cafe ( Not for cats , it's just the name of the cafe ) . Had gratin and ice cream...yummy...reached my place around midnight....

Wednesday ~~~ Going Onsen ~~!!!!

Silver Week

Today marks the start of a 5 day break~~~ call the silver week...

Yippee~~~ with the sports day coming up..it's endless outdoor practise from marching to dancing to running all day long...
sometimes it makes me wonder : am I working in a kindergarten or primary school??
sometimes the way they are training the kids...makes me wonder if they are trying to train super kids...
Oh well.. but it is an international kindergarten and the parents are paying a lot more school fees than normal kindergarten...
after the sports day finishes in October..it's busy busy busy again in preparation for Halloween.....

But not complaining though..work here is really really fun... sometimes i just wish I could post more pictures and videos of the fun we have in school but because the privacy laws here in Japan are quite strict....

oh well...will keep all the fun to myself.. =)

New school term

It's kinda weird to finally start working after such a long break....
After a week in school, it's kinda hard to get my engine starting again...
But it is definitely good to be doing something again... or else it's too boring at home...
And it's really good to see my kids again...
Young kids change really fast in just a month's absence, especially in behaviour...
Those very quiet ones can turn into devils suddenly but unfortunately those devilish ones stays devilish... hai~~~~~
Next week will be the last week of pool, the weather's turning chilling quite fast this year.
Usually I will be dying to jump into the pool straight, but now I am slowly walking into the pool. And I hate it when they start splashing water at me..haha...COZ IT'S JUST TOO DAMN COLD~~!!!
The wind is what's making it cold...hai~~~~ autumn's coming~~

NO~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
stay summer forever please....

Anyway after pool, we will be busy doing sports day practise.. coz sports day is in October..
Tomorrow the staff in the kindergarten will be going bowling , kinda like an 'ice breaker' activity for all the staffs...
It's already been like almost half a yr I don't really think there's anymore ice to break man...
I'll take it as maybe more like a 'back to work' activity..
Man, I suck at bowling... why don't they take my suggestion of playing vball... more fun ~~~ =)

My balloting for Arashi concert in Nagoya Dome's not annouced yet....

anyway~~~till next time~~~~~

Last day for sis in Japan >> 14 Aug

Last day for my sis in Japan...spent most of the day packing her stuff....

And drove her around my area to let her see my living environment....

The damage was huge..... 300,000Yen spent cash, 100,000Yen spent credit card ....

I bought Gap, Birkenstock, Adidas, Forever 21, that's a lot of clothes, a lot of shoes, and of coz a lot of food too....

My sis bought Burberry, Coach, Birkenstock, Gap...that's a lot of bags, a lot of shoes and also a lot of food...

Hahahahaa.... A lot of places visited, a lot of good food eaten, a lot of money spent.... most of the money was spent on hotels and train fare...we took the bullet train twice..tat's the bulk of it.....

But it was a really fun 2 weeks of summer break for me...
We were quite lucky, during the last week there was a typhoon approaching Japan....
But when it was in Osaka/ Nara, we were in Tokyo...

And the earthquake happened after we left Tokyo. Phew~~~~
Weather is crazy in Japan this year, the rainy season ended so late... and this is the first time a typhoon happened together with an earthquake...

Anyway~~~

If my sis had not come, i would have gone back to Singapore, I can't stand doing nothing during breaks...

Thank you my dear sis for coming over to visit me, to spend time touring Japan with me, and of coz toleranting my impatience during the trip..hehehe....

I hope you can see I'm really independent here and I'm doing well...

My winter break in Dec is only a week, so I think the chances of me going home is quite slim...
plus I failed my driving test... ^$@*&!()*@*!*#!#!
means have to retake and the only time I have is during breaks...

anyway, My adventure ended with all the shopping and walking and touring and typhoon and earthquake ....  this wednesday is usual work for me after a month's break~~~  =)

Took this at the airport after sending off my sis... Audi sports car...duNo wat model though...

Take care everyone~~~ No matter where r u ~~ I miss everyone ~~

Last day in Osaka >> 13 Aug

We spent the last day in Osaka walking and shopping around with the pathetic amount of money we had left..hahaha....

Hep Five Shopping Centre... it's famous for having a ferris wheel on the top floor..
but when we got there.. it was closed for maintenance till Oct... T____T

Anna Sui Boutique.. first time i saw one..

Went back to Gifu again in the late afternoon...

very very broke~~~ hahaha....

Twelventh day >> Universal Studios Japan

Need i say more.... ~~~~ ^_^

The highlight and the main reason was of coz for the Starlight Magical Parade~~

It was so crowded, we had to 'chop' places to view the parade an hour an a half before it starts... and we still got the 2nd row... the best seat taken by the japanese who sat there like 3 hrs b4...
and who say singaporeans are kiasu...

This kitty refuse to turn our direction despite us saying Hello... hehehe...

  • there's stalls because of the lighting festival that's going to happen in the evening

  • the deers are all roaming freely all over the place...

  • This one has only one horn~~

Another temple ~~ the 2 moon platform 二月台

We climbed up this~~~

to take these ~~~

No one will believe if I say this is a photo of a drain taken in Nara...

My favourite photo ~~ so nice n peaceful

My turn to take the deer walked away T___T oh Deer~~~

when we sat down near a bench for food... a deer came over and went through my bag, ate up a piece of catalogue and peed ~~~~ hahahaa...

LIghting festival photos.. photos don't show this festival justice coz it's really very very nice ~~

There's a ' I Love Nara " display too but the crowds gathering around it and the size of it... very very hard to be captured...

And here ended our first day in Kansai ~~~~

Tomorrow ~~ UNIVERSAL STUDIOS JAPAN !~~!!!

Tenth Day >> Inuyama

  • Drove to Inuyama today ...planned to go Inuyama today because of the fireworks taking place today....HOWEVER ~~~!!!
  • Reached there in the late morning to find out it was postponed to tomorrow becoz of the typhoon...

  • But actually not much rain in Gifu becoz of the mountains tat's blocking everything out... Oh well~~~~~ at least we got to watch the wonderful fireworks at Odaiba...so it's still ok....

  • Visited the castle ...

  • and then proceeded to Little World - a theme land with buildings and food products of different countries around the world...

Ninth day - Back to Gifu

Our  hotel in Tokyo...

I tot the' luggage against the door' photo was kinda abstract..hhehehhe ~~~

  • Was so bloody tired after reaching home ~~~
  • Next day going Inuyama ~~~~~ for fireworks ~~~ !!!

Eighth day - Asakusa & Odaiba

  • Today we left Yokohama and check into a hotel in Tokyo.

  • We reached our hotel around noon time, and proceeded to famous Kamimon temple in Asakusa, we wanted to see the big red lantern... =)

  • Wasn't difficult to spot the temple with the huge crowd of people in front trying to take photo with the big red lantern.. of coz we had to join in..hehhee....

  • After we passed the big red lantern, we were welcomed by the famous shopping streets full of souvenirs.  Bought the famous 人型烧。。
  • There were a lot of tourists around, can easily spot some Singapore accent with the " what's inside? How muchie'?? hehehhee =)

  • If you walk all the way without stopping at any store ( which is extremely difficult ), will take only 10mins to reach the next temple with the 5 floor pagoda... but rubbish, of coz must shop... so we took around more than an hour to reach the other end which is about 100mtrs..hahahha
  • The pagoda is closed unfortuntely...

  • I did a Kuji ( draw lots ), got a  凶 ~~~  T____T .. if it's 吉, you can bring the paper back with you  but if it's 凶, it is best to leave it at the temple, they have a special area for u to tie the paper to the poles..so i tied it up and left it at the temple.
  • Said something about getting into trouble with the law or something..all in japanese so I could only understand a bit.. i keep telling my sis must be our atrocious spending, maybe i can't pay off my credit card bill kena locked up...hahahaha

  • Left Asakusa around 4pm and went over to Odaiba ~~!!! YEah.... I always wanted to go...but extra special this time also... to visit the VS arashi game booth there..heheheh...
  • When we went there, we realised that there was going to be a fireworks display later in the evening....can explain the crowds of Yukata wearing men and women....
  • So extra extra special, can get to watch fireworks... yeah~~~~

This is so  ' teach kids the wrong thing ' ~~

Hehhe...okie.. i cheated..this is a postcard scan...hahaha

  • Didn't took a lot of pictures of the fireworks coz i took mostly videos of it... But it was good ~~!!!!!
    Crawled our way to the train station coz it was so damn bloody crowded... we left at around 7.30pm but reached our hotel at almost 10pm...

  • And here ended our last day in Yokohama/ Tokyo, heading back home to Gifu tomorrow...

  • Overall, I love Yokohama, the streets are beautiful, the people are nicer than in Tokyo, the scenary is beautiful, tee feeling is so much different. It's a big city yet it's not too congested and it is quiet serene.... I might find a job and move to Yokohama...hahahhaha
  • Tokyo, i still can't stand it, yes it's a big city with lots of things to see, but too over congested....
  • To sum up, I LOVE YOKOHAMA !!!!!!!! MUST GO ~!!!
